Camagüey, September 20. – As part of the programs preparing for territorial defense and increasing combative actions in the field, the Military Region Studies Center of Camagüey carries out various practical activities, including combined classes and defensive exercises.
These actions, using different means and resources, have included assembling and disassembling infantry weapons, handling military materials, training in grenade throwing, and firing with mortars and infantry weapons.
Additionally, for a more comprehensive troop preparation, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) has been incorporated, essential tools in any conflict as they facilitate reconnaissance and fire direction for infantry and artillery weapons.
Soldiers have also practiced firing procedures and battlefield observation, thereby strengthening their readiness to defend the homeland. Lieutenant José Luis Leiva Matos highlighted the commitment and training level of the forces.
In the special troops category, defensive exercises were conducted involving firing drills in binomials, trinomials, and subgroups, aligned with the tactics used in that specialty.
Isneldo Hernández Bautista, special troops subgroup chief, explained that these exercises are part of the combative training typical of this unit.
In a complex international context for peace in Latin America, Camagüey intensifies preparation and defense actions aiming to strengthen the region’s defensive capacity and guarantee national security. (Text and photo: Gleibis Gómez Durva / Radio Cadena Agramonte)
