Havana, 8 Oct.- First-grade students from all over Cuba will join the José Martí Pioneer Organization (OPJM, for its acronym in Spanish) today as a step that reaffirms the commitment to strengthen patriotic values and student education in honor of the legacy of the National Hero.
This event not only involves receiving the blue scarf, but also highlights the importance of instilling in the pioneers the principles of patriotism, solidarity, and respect, as well as preparing them to be future leaders committed to the nation.
Fifty-eight years after the physical disappearance of the heroic guerrilla fighter Ernesto Che Guevara, the memory and example of the internationalist combatant is honored under the slogan "Pioneers for communism, we will be like Che."
The ceremony is therefore key to strengthening the values ??of social responsibility in the new pioneers and fostering the duty to prepare for future life with principles of empathy, in line with the OPJM's mission to educate exemplary future citizens.
The day is a symbol of unity and commitment on the part of the pioneers, who reaffirm their fighting spirit and love for their homeland in the classrooms, as an additional incentive to Cuban families to continue working for the integral education of children and youth, in the legacy of the Apostle and in defense of the ideals of the Cuban Revolution.
