Port-au-Prince, October 14 – Three armed gangs in the Artibonite Valley killed 84 people in 24 attacks and massacres, a fact that demonstrates the lack of state control in this territory of the Caribbean nation.
According to the digital newspaper Le Facteur Haiti, the perpetrators of these crimes are the gangs Kokorat san ras, Gran Grif, and Taliban/Mawozo.
The criminal events took place during the period between January and September of 2025.
Over the span of nine months, no fewer than 84 people, including four Haitian police officers and two Kenyans, lost their lives. The 24 massacres and armed attacks were perpetrated by criminals in 25 different localities and towns, located in eight of the 17 communes of the Artibonite department.
The National Network for the Defense of Human Rights, cited by the newspaper, condemned this situation, which demonstrates that the gangs are acting with total impunity.
In this context, the police, the Army, and the soldiers of the Multinational Security Support Mission are unable to stop them. (Text and photo: PL)
