Havana, October 16 – Tickets are now available to enjoy "Al Ritmo de la Herencia"( To the rhythm of heritage), the name of the upcoming theater season of the Cuban National Folkloric Ensemble (CFNC), which will take place on October 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, and 26 at the Avellaneda Hall of the National Theater of Cuba.
Julio César Orduñez, a solo dancer with the CFNC, told the Cuban News Agency that the performances, scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays at 7:00 p.m. and Sundays at 5:00 p.m., come with many surprises for the audience.
According to Orduñez, the first part will feature the world premiere of "Ecos de Dahomey" (Echoes of Dahomey), a choreographic journey through Cuban dances of Arará influence, which connect the largest of the Antilles with the current Republic of Benin. The piece aims to preserve the memory of an ancestral legacy and project it into the present through a renewed stage language. (Text and Photo: Cubasí)
