We have always believed that the leaders of both the Soviet era and present-day Russia have, in one way or another, avoided the outbreak of World War III, in which we would all lose.
This is how the most recent communication between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump was drawn up, they even met in Anchorage, Alaska, to agree terms for a special military operation being conducted by Russia in Ukraine, a necessary action in view of the approach of North Atlantic Treaty Organization troops to the Russian borders.
The use of Ukraine against Russia had a previous history of eight years, through money provided by Washington and the creation of neo-Nazi brigades that dedicated themselves to murdering thousands of Russian speakers, until Russia's necessary entry into the confrontation in Ukraine.
With Biden as president, the situation worsened in North America, and only with the arrival of Donald Trump for the second time as US leader did it seem, just seem, that the problem would be resolved, with the US admission that Russia had no choice but to act this way.
But it was lip service, because in practice, the voices that denounced the unjust situation in which Russia had been placed were silenced, as denounced by a journalist even inclined to Trump, such as Tucker Carlson, and by a Cuban host who was fired from an American radio station, the one they call La Poderosa, for supporting Putin's reasons for taking action against the Ukrainian regime. "In this country, you can't tell the truth," she asserted twice.
However, Trump, who has recently dressed in the false garb of a peacemaker, tried to make Putin believe he was willing to bring peace to Ukraine, and even admitted to Russian reasons again, blaming the previous administration.
After ensuring that European allies buy American weapons for Ukraine, the aforementioned now indicates that he can supply weapons capable of bringing the war to Moscow, such as Tomahawk missiles, which can only be operated by American specialists. This, of course, has been rejected by Putin, who emphasized that it would not change the course of the war but that such use would lead to actions that could result in a total war.
