Camagüey, October 23. - This Tuesday, a regrettable incident in which a 14-year-old minor and a law enforcement officer were injured was immediately distorted on social media as part of manipulation campaigns against Cuba. The Ministry of the Interior in the province issued a press release.

This Tuesday, in a regrettable incident that occurred in the evening hours in the city of Camagüey, a 14-year-old minor was injured, who was carrying a bladed weapon and resisted detention.
Preliminary information indicates that accidentally, the minor and a law enforcement officer were injured when the latter's service weapon discharged unintentionally.
The minor immediately received medical attention at the Eduardo Agramonte Piña Pediatric Hospital, with family accompaniment at the medical center. He underwent surgery, is conscious, and his life is not in danger.
At the time of detention, he was not carrying identification documents, and it was later established that he has been monitored by the Provincial Council for Attention to Minors in Camagüey for systematic violations of the law, in acts classified as crimes.
The officer also received medical assistance.
The organs of the Ministry of the Interior continue investigations for the full clarification of the incident.
