Camagüey, Dec 13 – With the aim of fostering the talent and creativity of new generations to contribute to the country's economic, scientific, and social development, the Territorial Division of the Cuban Telecommunications Company (ETECSA, for its acronym in Spanish) in Camagüey held a Young Technical Brigades (BTJ, for its acronym in Spanish) event this Friday.
Rosanne Guerra Rodríguez, national coordinator of the BTJ at ETECSA, highlighted the active participation of newly recruited young people and the impact of the 14 presentations delivered.
These works, representing all areas of the company—such as investments, information technologies, commercial operations, and mobile services—aim to optimize technical and operational processes.
Three research projects received the "Relevant" distinction in the competition: "Vant-Siem Cybersecurity" by Leandro Lázaro Varona Tabares, "Solution for Configuring Mobile Network Expansion" by Sergio Raúl León Reitor, and "Solution for the Florat External Plant" by Lidice Cabreja Victoria.

In this context, awards were also given for "Outstanding" works and "Mentions."
Elizabeth María Horta Rivero, vice president of the BTJ in the municipality of Camagüey, emphasized how the innovative solutions generated within the company validate the "Forgers of the Future" status held by the collective, in addition to recognizing outstanding young people with distinctive seals.
The research presented focused on current topics such as cost reduction, cybersecurity, and the application of artificial intelligence. An experienced jury, composed of specialists such as Eliseo Ramentol Martínez, Head of the Network Administration Group and Territorial Coordinator on the subject, evaluated the projects.
Ramentol Martínez stressed the importance of these presentations for the company, particularly those related to protecting sensitive data to prevent damage to technological infrastructure.

As the culmination of the event, Alejandro Rodríguez Quintero was recognized as the "Best Brigadier of the Year" for his consistent scientific and innovative contributions.
The event demonstrated the commitment of ETECSA and the BTJ in Camagüey to innovation and the training of the next technical generation, promoting solutions that benefit both the company and the country's digital development. (Text and photos: Gladys Daylin Morera Cordero/Radio Cadena Agramonte)
