Electrical Contingent departs from Camagüey to support Granma province

Camagüey, Nov. 1. - A contingent of 60 electrical workers from the province, named after patriot Ignacio Agramonte, departed this Saturday toward the eastern province of Granma to aid in restoring services after Hurricane Melissa's passage.

The brigade, made up of specialists from various Camagüey municipalities, has Bayamo as its initial destination, as confirmed to the press by Carlos Lacaba, director of the Customer Service Center.

Due to land access issues to Granma from the Cauto River overflow, the logistics plan involves traveling to Holguín province to set up an operations base and then moving to Santiago de Cuba as well, authorities explained.

Before departing around 3 p.m., the electricians shared emotional farewell moments with family and colleagues in an atmosphere filled with solidarity and determination.

Flagged by a deep sense of duty and solidarity, the workers left under the leadership of engineer Abelardo Nieves Sánchez, director of the Operations and Maintenance UEB, with no set return date but committed to staying in the area until the mission is complete.
