Havana, November 25 - Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, affirmed today that the XLI Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2025) is a demonstration of the country's resilience and its commitment to development and the creation of strategic alliances.
On his official Twitter account, the Head of State, who participated this Monday in the opening of the event at the Expocuba fairgrounds, thanked the businesspeople present despite the pressures of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed on Cuba by the United States government.
Díaz-Canel highlighted that this year more than 700 Cuban and foreign companies are participating in the event.
"#FIHAV2025 is a testament to #Cuba's resilience, our commitment to development, and the creation of strategic alliances. We thank the businesspeople who, despite the pressures of the blockade, are with us. More than 700 Cuban and foreign companies are participating this year."
FIHAV 2025, which brings together 715 companies representing 52 countries, including 268 Cuban companies, will run until November 29.
Oscar Pérez-Oliva Fraga, Vice Prime Minister and Head of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, stated at the fair's opening that this 41st edition is a declaration of the will that yes, it is possible, following the devastating passage of Hurricane Melissa through the eastern part of the country on October 29.
He emphasized that actions are taken for the benefit of the people, who have earned and deserve more prosperity, more well-being, and more opportunities, and so that every step in the economy, investment, export, and project that is born becomes a step towards a better future.
That is why this Fair is necessary, he said, because given the challenges we face, the economy is at the center of our priorities. (Source: ACN)
