
Havana, November 28 - President Miguel Díaz-Canel honored the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, in the province of Santiago de Cuba, according to an official report released today in local media.
Díaz-Canel paid tribute to Fidel at the Santa Ifigenia Heritage Cemetery, where the remains of heroes, martyrs, and historical figures of the island rest, as stated in a review by the Presidency of the Republic.
During his visit to the necropolis the day before, the head of state also honored Mariana Grajales, the mother of brave independence fighters and considered in Cuba as the Mother of the Homeland, according to the text published also on social media.
Likewise, he paid his respects at the remains of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, the initiator of the struggles for independence on the island and identified here as the Father of the Homeland, as well as at the mausoleum of José Martí, National Hero of Cuba. (Text and photo: PL)
