
Camagüey, Dec. 23. – The people of Camagüey today commemorate the 184th anniversary of the birth of Major General of the Liberation Army Ignacio Agramonte y Loynaz, an emblematic national hero from whom local residents inherited the demonym "agramontinos."
As every year, a remembrance ceremony will take place this morning in front of the birthplace of El Mayor, followed by a pilgrimage to the park that bears his name, where tribute will also be paid to him.
At the same site, members of the Office of the Attorney General and the system of People's Courts will commemorate the 52nd anniversary of the institutionalization of both bodies, inspired by the legal legacy of Agramonte.
