Camagüey, December 24 - As part of the country's efforts to advance the development of several projects impacting the economy and social sphere, Camagüey Construction and Assembly Company Number One will complete a group of investments in 2025, while others are slated for completion next year.
This group, deserving of the Labor Prowess flag, has more than four decades of experience and is considered, due to the specialization of its technicians and workers, a benchmark in the maintenance of roads and bridges, hydraulic works and civil construction.
With a view to guaranteeing the development of renewable energy sources in Cuba, Camagüey Construction and Assembly Company Number One is undertaking the construction of the Ortigal photovoltaic park, located in the municipality of Florida.
The project began in August of this year and is expected to be completed by early 2026, contributing 21 megawatts to the National Electrical System.
According to information provided by Pedro Javier Pérez Tarajano, Director of Operations and Business for Construction Company Number 1 Camagüey, earthmoving and construction of the foundations that will support the technological panel containers are currently underway, in addition to progress in the foundation of the pillars of the tables and the solar panels.
With local resources and considerable effort, a brigade from Construction and Assembly Company Number One of Camagüey successfully converted a building in the municipality of Florida into a two-story building with 12 apartments that will benefit several families in that territory.
Engineer Fran Cribeiro García, director of Construction and Assembly Company Number One in Camagüey, explained that the company managed to recover a group of means and equipment essential for the transportation of resources and for work on site, as a result of the dedication and creative ingenuity of the workers.
The manager added that, as a continuation of the maintenance and repair program for runways at the country's main airports, work was carried out at the Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz Airport in Camagüey to replace all the damaged asphalt and lay the new surface layer, allowing approximately 22 weekly flights to operate at that terminal.
All of this was made possible by the commitment of those currently working in various Basic Business Units, specializing in different types of construction projects, who face daily resource shortages and limitations, but who possess the characteristic will and dedication of the people of Camagüey.
