Cuba and Russia create Biopharmaceutical Company


Havana, December 25.- Cuba and Russia signed an agreement to establish the joint venture Sinergia Global Biofarmacéutica, aimed at the development, production, and commercialization of high-tech medications, announced executives from Biocubafarma to Cubadebate.

The new entity is the first of its kind established in the territory of the Russian Federation, marking a strategic step in bilateral cooperation in the biopharmaceutical sector.

The project aims to accelerate research and the availability of innovative drugs, with expected benefits for patients in both countries and regions such as Latin America and Eurasia.

The initial programs will focus on oncology, brain diseases, autoimmune disorders, and other non-communicable chronic diseases, according to representatives of the Cuban industry.

Executives from Biocubafarma stated that both parties are committed to ensuring that the results positively impact the health of the populations in need.

This initiative reflects the continuity of the historical ties between the governments and peoples of Cuba and Russia, strengthening cooperation in a sector considered of high priority for both nations. (Text and photo: ACN)
