Cuba highlights true intentions behind US escalation

Havana, December 29 - Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez today emphasized the true intentions behind the United States' military escalation and measures to obstruct Venezuelan trade.

"The measures by the US government to obstruct the free trade of Venezuelan petroleum resources and pursue ships transporting fuel to Cuba are neither new nor directly related to the current military deployment in the Caribbean and the naval blockade against Venezuela," he stated in a post on the social media platform X.

"They are part of the stated objective of destroying the Cuban Revolution, overthrowing the legitimate Bolivarian and Chavista government, and forcibly usurping the critical and strategic natural resources of the region," he asserted.

He also affirmed that it is for this purpose that they intensify their policy of pressure and suffocation against the island on a daily basis, with a direct impact on the national electricity system and, consequently, on the daily life of the Cuban population. (Source: Prensa Latina)
