Havana, Dec 31.- The Central Bank of Cuba has added twenty new offices of Cadeca (Currency Exchange Houses) to carry out financial operations for the public across the country.
The decision follows an analysis of the performance of the foreign exchange market since the beginning of its transformations and the recent evolution of the economic context, the institution specified via its Facebook profile.
The functioning of the exchange segments showed results in line with expectations, which allowed for the expansion of service coverage for the population, the Central Bank noted.
The measure strengthens the role of the financial system as the primary intermediary for foreign exchange operations in the national economy, the entity added.
According to official information, the expansion contributes to improving banking services, in line with the gradual approach that characterizes the ongoing transformations.
Cadeca has also enabled the option to access foreign currency sales through the Transfermóvil application, using the MiTurno (MyTurn) feature, which has been available since yesterday.
The service will be operational starting today at the designated offices in all provinces, the Central Bank of Cuba informed.
