Havana, January 6 - Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla responded firmly and forcefully today to recent statements by the President of the United States, which he described as blasphemous, threatening, and based on a complete lack of understanding of the island's reality.
Through his official account on the social media platform X, the Cuban Foreign Minister stated that the US president, by echoing the agenda of lies promoted by Cuban-American politicians and other interest groups, intends to distract attention from the true cause of the Cuban people's suffering: the criminal policy of economic strangulation and the intensified hostile blockade, applied and maintained by successive US administrations.
Rodríguez Parrilla emphasized that this deliberately intensified genocidal policy is directly responsible for causing severe damage and situations of despair among Cuban families by hindering the normal development of the economy and access to essential resources.
In the face of these aggressions, he reaffirmed the nation's unwavering will: "Our courageous people, faithful to their history of struggle, will defend their nation against any imperialist aggression," he declared.
In a message that resonated as a reaffirmation of patriotism and the readiness to defend national sovereignty, the head of Cuban diplomacy concluded with a resounding proclamation: "For this land, we are willing to give our lives."
The Foreign Minister's response reaffirms the position of the Cuban State and Government to resist and confront any threat, while holding the U.S. administration responsible for the humanitarian consequences of an economic, commercial, and financial blockade maintained for over six decades and overwhelmingly rejected by the international community.
