Havana, January 12 - The Cuban government on Sunday denied information circulating on social media about an alleged increase in the price of Cuban passports for residents abroad.
The clarification was made by Ana Teresita González, Director General of Consular Affairs and Attention to Cubans Residing Abroad, who, through her official account on the social network X, categorically stated: “FALSE. The information circulating about an increase in the price of the Cuban passport for residents abroad IS NOT TRUE.”
The official emphasized that no changes have been approved to the current fees for this consular procedure and urged citizens to “consult and share information only from official channels to avoid misinformation.”
The statement comes in response to rumors circulating on digital platforms that have generated concern among Cubans living abroad, and reaffirms the importance of consulting official sources for information on consular services. (Text and Photo: Cubadebate)
