ESEN presents its renovated platform with a focus on e-commerce

Havana, Feb 28. - With a focus on digital transformation and bringing its services closer to the public, the National Insurance Company (ESEN, for its acronym in Spanish) is currently immersed in an ambitious project to relaunch its web platform. This effort seeks not only to recover its online presence but also to lay the groundwork for a revolution in the way insurance is contracted in the country.

The starting point for this initiative was a technical issue in August 2023 that forced the removal of the previous website. Far from being a setback, this situation became an opportunity to completely rethink the company's digital presence. Consequently, around April 2024, an alliance was signed with the company Desoft, which was tasked with the design and technical restructuring of the new site.

The result is a much more comprehensive and functional virtual space. The new ESEN portal acts as an integrated information hub where any citizen—whether insured or not—can discover everything about insurance in Cuba.

The platform details the location of its offices in every province, the portfolio of available products, and contact channels, ensuring that institutional information is just a click away.

However, the true qualitative leap of this project lies in online commercialization. Aware of current needs, the company has set out to integrate policy sales into the digital experience. To achieve this, they have partnered with Guajiritos SURL, a Cuban SME that is developing a custom management system. This tool will be the engine driving transactions, allowing individuals to purchase insurance without leaving their homes.

The roadmap is clear and progressive. They anticipate that in the second half of the year, travel insurance will be the first to be offered under this modality. Once this stage is consolidated, other products will be incorporated gradually.

The new management system, which will link directly to the website, will centralize all information in a national database, streamlining processes such as renewals and the issuance of new policies.

Naturally, ESEN understands that not all procedures are the same. While some insurance types, such as travel insurance, will be immediate upon payment confirmation, others will require prior validation from their offices to ensure adequate coverage. This flexibility allows them to combine digital immediacy with the security of a personalized analysis when the situation warrants it.

This new channel does not seek to replace traditional assistance but to complement it. The company is aware that not everyone has internet access or feels comfortable with digital tools. Therefore, its offices and advisors will remain a fundamental pillar of the service. However, for those who opt for the convenience of their home, the ability to purchase insurance from a mobile phone represents significant progress.

This relaunch reflects ESEN’s philosophy: to innovate without losing sight of the people. Every decision is made with the policyholder in mind, seeking ways to make their lives easier and offer greater guarantees. With this new platform, they reaffirm their commitment to being closer to their clients, offering modern solutions and the peace of mind that comes from knowing the company will always be there when needed.
