Information on adjustments to the printed edition and circulation of national and provincial newspapers

Havana, Feb 28. - The Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Party has agreed to modify the printed edition and circulation of national and provincial newspapers, in response to the tightening of the U.S. government's blockade against our people and its impact on fuel availability caused by that administration's Executive Order, announced on January 29th.

Accordingly, starting Monday, March 2, 2026, the printed editions of the national newspapers Granma and Juventud Rebelde will circulate once a week (on Tuesdays), in an eight-page format. Similarly, the weekly Trabajadores will continue to be printed once a week, distributed on Tuesdays. Provincial newspapers will cease to be printed.

In line with the current international practice of increasing internet access to newspapers and the process of digital transformation in Cuban society, which constitutes a pillar of our Government's management, these fundamental social communication media will perfect their work as multi-platforms, with permanent updates to their websites and profiles on digital social networks. In turn, they will strengthen ties with radio and television to expand the reach of their content.

To facilitate public access to information published by the country's newspapers, free access to their websites via mobile data will be provided nationwide.

The state business group Correos de Cuba will adopt the corresponding measures in its contractual relationship with subscribers. (Text and photo: Granma Digital)
