Havana, Jan 20.- The Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS, for its acronym in Spanish) announced the winners of its music creation scholarships, an initiative designed to stimulate the work of Cuba's young artistic vanguard.
This grant is awarded in conjunction with the Company of Musical Recordings and Editions (Egrem, for its acronym in Spanish) and the record label Bis Music.
Jesús Pérez Sicilia, from the central province of Las Tunas, was honored with the Lázaro García scholarship, while Víctor Manuel Marín Castillo from Villa Clara received the Elena Burke scholarship.
Meanwhile, the members of Dúo Clima, Diana López and Pedro Acosta, were awarded the Ignacio Villa scholarship, which recognizes projects of high creative value.
The AHS maintains a broad platform of competitions and opportunities that serve as a driving force for new talents in Cuban music, in alliance with the country's recording and cultural institutions.
The award ceremony is scheduled for January 22 at 5:00 p.m. local time at the Pabellón Cuba, the organization's national headquarters.
Artists, cultural managers, and representatives of the music industry will gather there to celebrate emerging talent. (Text and photo: PL)
