
Havana, Feb 4 - The National Association of Cuban Technicians (ATAC, for its acronym in Spanish) highlighted the celebration of the Science Day for Innovation event, held by the Sugar Group AZCUBA.
In its informational bulletin for January, it emphasized its sessions at the National Sugar Training Center, plenaries, and exchanges around Scientific and Documentary Heritage, Innovation in the industry, by-products and energy, Agricultural Innovation, Digital Transformation, and Business and Collaboration.
A similar event took place at the Cuban Institute of Sugar Cane By-Products Research, focusing on microbiology, bioproducts and biofuels, by-products, nitro pharmaceuticals, and sugar production, added the publication.
Furthermore, it congratulated the 27 sector professionals who received the Carlos J. Finlay Order, including a group who are members of ATAC, which on January 3, 2027, will reach 100 years of uninterrupted work.
It also referred to the importance of crop rotation in sustainable agriculture, which consists of alternating various plant species in the same plot over time, with the goal of maintaining and improving soil health, optimizing resource use, and reducing pest and disease pressure. (Source: ACN)
