Havana, Feb 5. – The Palestinian-Cuban Friendship Association today demanded an end to all U.S. coercive measures against the Caribbean nation and condemned Washington's new escalation.
We express our strongest condemnation of the recent and brutal aggressive escalation by the government of Donald Trump against Cuban sovereignty, denounced the association in a statement.
In this regard, it described an executive order that seeks to impose punitive tariffs on sovereign nations that supply fuel to the island as economic piracy and international blackmail.
This measure not only aims to paralyze the electricity supply and transportation of the largest of the Antilles, but also constitutes a direct attack on the survival of its people by attempting to subdue them through hunger and darkness, it emphasized.
In these times when international justice is being tested, our voices rise from the heart of the Palestinian cause to embrace the sister Cuban nation, it stated.
The Association assured that the Palestinian people will never forget that Cuba was among the first to recognize its sovereignty and that it trained thousands of its doctors and professionals.
Cuba is not alone, ratified the text, which demanded the cessation of U.S. attacks on the Caribbean nation and that its right to trade freely with the world be respected. (Text and photo: PL)
