Camagüey’s Radio broadcasters commemorate patriotic dates

Camagüey, Feb 24 - As every Tuesday, the Provincial Directorate of Radio in Camagüey held its morning meeting, this time with a special character as it commemorated transcendental events in national history.

Among the remembered anniversaries were: the beginning of the Necessary War, called by José Martí in 1895; the founding of Radio Rebelde, symbol of revolutionary communication; the work of the Office of the City Historian of Camagüey, which preserves local heritage memory; and the Day of the Communications Worker, essential figures in the transmission of messages and in daily life.

The day featured the participation of artist Javier del Toro, from the Nino Moncada Dramatic Group of Radio Cadena Agramonte, who contributed his talent to the commemoration.

Likewise, the group Altos y bajitos from the José Luis Tassende elementary school enlivened the gathering with cultural presentations that gave a festive and youthful touch to the space.

With this morning meeting, Camagüey radio reaffirmed its commitment to keep historical memory alive and to accompany each workday with the spirit of unity and culture that characterizes the province. (Text and photos: ZeniaDonetGarcía/Radio Cadena Agramonte)
