Havana, Mar 2.- Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Organization Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, highlighted on his Facebook profile the vision of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, regarding world peace as a condition for justice and survival.
Morales Ojeda recalled that Fidel linked peace with the eradication of exploitation and domination, when delivering his first speech to the UN General Assembly in 1960, where he stated: "May the philosophy of plunder disappear, and the philosophy of war will have disappeared!"
The leader emphasized that for Fidel, peace was not an end in itself, but the "primary condition" that would allow humanity to deploy its resources and energies towards an honorable and decent life.
Morales Ojeda quoted the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, warning that the struggle for peace was, in essence, "the struggle for the survival of humanity," in a context marked by the nuclear threat and the arms race.
He pointed out that Fidel insisted that "if there is no development and a minimum of justice for the peoples, there will also be no peace," and that genuine peace could not exist as long as colonialism, injustice, and economic domination against the peoples of the South prevailed.
The Party leader highlighted that Fidel rejected any form of "peace on one's knees" imposed by the powers and defended a peace with dignity, based on cooperation and respect for the sovereignty of nations. (Text and photo: ACN)
