Camagüey, March 4 - The agricultural system in Camagüey is working on the development of a future integrative project in collaboration with science institutions in the province. The goal is to generalize results across the different branches of the agricultural sector by incorporating them into one of the two territorial programs that the province has.
María Magdalena Artuñedo, Head of the Development, Science, and Environment Department at the Provincial Delegation of Agriculture, highlighted that although the results are not yet widespread, work is being carried out with greater intensity and dedication in agricultural areas that have the conditions to develop this type of project. This initiative would become part of either the Food Production program or the Natural Resources program.
Artuñedo emphasized the need to strengthen scientific activity by introducing good practices that allow for increasing agricultural production and achieving greater sustainability.
For the implementation in 2027 of what will become an integrative project, an area of the Livestock Enterprise Triángulo 3 in the municipality of Camagüey has been selected. There, several technologies will converge with good practices, gradually applying the results of scientific activity to food production. This will also serve as a space to demonstrate these experiences to producers.
In Camagüey, agriculture continues to work towards promoting comprehensive development models based on the application of science and innovation, in a very complex scenario for the country's economy. Therefore, the implementation of integrative projects will constitute a way to increase food production while also caring for the environment.
