
Havana, March 4 - A disconnection of the National Electric Power System (SEN, by its acronym in Spanish) occurred from Camagüey to Pinar del Río, the Electric Union (UNE, by its acronym in Spanish) reported on its Facebook profile.
The post explains that "the disconnection is due to the unexpected outage of the Antonio Guiteras Thermoelectric Power Plant, in the province of Matanzas, caused by a leak in the boiler at 12:41 p.m."
It also adds that "all protocols for the restoration of the SEN have been activated."
It also reported that the Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, is at the National Load Dispatch Center with the Minister of Energy and Mines, Vicente De La O Levy, to determine the details of the SEN disconnection and the next actions to be taken for its restoration.
