Havana, March 6. - In compliance with the legal provisions in force in Cuba, expert actions and investigative proceedings are advancing to allow the full clarification of the events, as well as the involvement of each of its perpetrators.
The statements of the detainees themselves are added to a set of investigative procedures, which reinforce the evidence against them; while new elements are being obtained that establish the participation of other individuals residing in the United States.
From the outset, Cuban authorities have maintained timely communication with their U.S. counterparts. On March 2, 2026, United States authorities communicated through diplomatic channels their willingness to cooperate fully in the investigation. Cooperation could include information exchange, evidence sharing, and other joint actions.
Given the seriousness of the events and the threat that terrorism represents not only for Cuba, the national authorities, consistent with the historic stance on this issue, consider reciprocal cooperation in confronting this dangerous scourge for all humanity a duty.
The injured detainees continue to receive specialized medical assistance according to the health status and severity of each individual. In the case of Roberto Álvarez Ávila, he died on March 4 as a result of the injuries sustained.
