Havana, March 6. - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba congratulated today the people and Government of the Republic of Ghana on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of its independence.
Through a message on X, the island's Foreign Ministry conveyed "sincere congratulations to the brotherly people of Ghana and its government."
Likewise, it expressed the will of the Cuban people and government to "continue strengthening bilateral relations and the ties of friendship between both nations."
Ghana achieved its independence from the British Empire on March 6, 1957, and since that moment it has been considered a symbol of freedom, as it was the first colony in Sub-Saharan Africa to liberate itself from European colonialism.
After the triumph of the Cuban Revolution in January 1959, Ghana was the first country in that region to establish relations with the Caribbean nation. (PL) (Photo: Taken from the Internet)
