Havana, Jul 24.- Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, leader of the Cuban Revolution, and Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, led this Monday the burial ceremony of the remains of Army Corps General Julio Casas Regueiro and Division General Luis Alberto Rodríguez López-Calleja, in the Mausoleum of the Second Eastern Front Frank País García.

The burial ceremony was preceded by an honor guard led by Army General Raúl Castro Ruz; the President of the Republic and the members of the Political Bureau Manuel Marrero Cruz, Roberto Morales Ojeda, and generals Álvaro López Miera, Lázaro Álvarez Casas and José Amado Ricardo Guerra, as well as Brigadier General Ania Lastres Morera, executive president of the Business Administration Group, according to the website of the Presidency.

The ballot boxes were guarded by six floral offerings in the name of the Army General, the Cuban Head of State, the National Assembly of Popular Power, the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution and their relatives.

At the mourning farewell, led by the Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, the Head of Government highlighted the exceptional service records of Generals Julio Casas and Luis Alberto, who were distinguished by their permanent loyalty to the Army General, as well as the political strength, intelligence, sagacity, audacity and creativity with which they undertook each task.

He also recognized the privilege of having formed a team together with them.

In these complex moments that the Homeland is experiencing, the Prime Minister added, "we must bear in mind the economic thinking of Julio and Luis Alberto, learn once and for all to work as they did, without fanfare, without complacency, without unnecessary prominence, systematically and honestly, always having as a premise the concept of Fidel's Revolution and Raúl's Sí se puede."

Shortly after, Raúl placed a flower before Vilma, a tribute to which the other participants joined, as a sign of respect and affection for the heroine of the Sierra and the plain. (Text: ACN) (Photo: @GobiernoCuba)
