Havana, Oct 9.- The Cuba Única Caravan concluded its tour of Chile, a country that constitutes the second market for issuing visitors to the island from the southern cone and has the potential to grow with new air connections.
Organized by the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur), the campaign toured the cities of Santiago, Viña del Mar and Concepción, where business rounds were held with the participation of some 300 tour operators, travel agencies and airlines.
On October 29, the Chilean airline Latam will begin flying to Havana from Lima, with four weekly frequencies, to which Boliviana de Aviación will join from Santa Cruz de la Sierra to the Cuban capital, which will benefit the flow of travelers to the Caribbean country.
Meanwhile, the Panamanian Copa expanded its trips to Santa Clara by one more frequency and Cubana de Aviación operates a direct flight between Buenos Aires and Cayo Coco, which allows it to offer the product of the entire northern keys of the Antillean archipelago.
Janet Ayala, director of the Cuban Tourism Office for the Southern Cone, highlighted the broad appeal of the campaign, which demonstrates the demand of visitors for the attractions of their country.
The Mintur delegation was made up of the hotel groups Blau, Barceló, Sirenis, Iberostar, Islazul, Meliá and Valentín, in addition to the national incoming Cubatur and Ecotur, as well as the Cubasol business group and the Copa and Latam airlines.
Cuban music, gastronomy and typical cocktails complemented the presentations in each city, where detailed information about the destination and its news was offered. (Text and photo: PL)
