Arab Union of Cuba rejects Israel's siege against Palestinian civilians

Havana, Oct 13.- The Arab Union of Cuba today expressed its strong rejection of Israel's siege against the civilian population of the Gaza Strip, which it described as a genocide.

The organization denounced in a statement that it is an aberrant act and violates all the norms of International Law, since the Zionist Government is holding two million people prisoners in a city in ruins, to which it decided to interrupt vital services such as the sending of medical supplies, water and electricity.

“Under a total blockade and an indiscriminate bombing campaign, Israel's government is massacring women, children and the elderly without any compunction,” underlines the text to which Prensa Latina had access.

It also denounces how this event occurs under the complacent view of Western countries that not only support Zionism through their speech, but also send material resources to increase the death toll on the Palestinian side.

The document expressly condemns the people who are stealing the lives, dreams, desires to grow and live from thousands of children who will be forever traumatized by so much hatred and destruction.

Likewise, it supports the right of the Palestinian people to have control of their territory, form a State and receive compensation for more than half a century of occupation, as well as efforts towards peace whose result will lead to the creation of the State of Palestine.

The text points out that Israel is an invading state and does not recognize international laws, since 1948 its borders with Palestine were set by the United Nations, which has not been respected, invading Arab territory again and again.

In each invasion, it highlights, the clashes have been between the civilians of those communities and one of the best-equipped armies in the world. The asymmetry in this conflict has reached the point of transcending for history the images of children and young people facing tanks with sticks and stones.

Likewise, they add that they observe with concern the spirals of hatred on social networks around this issue, because many have lost perspective on this fact or fall as victims of fake news and sophisticated war propaganda narratives.

“It is still a David versus Goliath fight, only this time, David is the Palestinian people,” the statement added. (PL) (Photo: Facebook page of the Arab Union of Cuba)
