In that sense, the sectoral vice president of Economy and Minister of Agriculture of Venezuela, Wilmar Castro Soteldo, declared that the visit of the Cuban leader to his nation's pavilion was one of deep pride and great honor.
51 Venezuelan companies from different sectors came to the Havana Fair: productive, agricultural business, industrial, intermediate industrial, technological, plastic, textile and packaging sectors, the official told this agency.
A diversity in what we call in Venezuela engines of economic development were present here with the possibility not only of exchanging from a commercial point of view, but also of producing jointly in some areas, Castro Soteldo confirmed.
Such is the case, he stated, of information technology, where we have a joint project in household appliances, also with cooperative plans in the textile sphere, where Venezuelan entrepreneurs are expected to come to produce in union with Cuban companies.
The Minister of Agriculture indicated that in the agroindustrial sector we have been advancing for more than three years in joint projects in the field of pork, sugar cane, balanced foods, poultry and genetic exchange.
He stated that President Díaz-Canel paid a lot of attention to the Venezuelan glass industry, with the possibility of being safe and well-priced suppliers for the highly prestigious Cuban pharmaceutical industry, he noted.
Regarding the economic blockade imposed by the United States on both countries, Castro Soteldo considered that the response to this blockade applied against our two countries is work, joint work.
Brother countries such as Iran, Russia or China, which share with us, have already started cooperation a long time ago and we can already see some fruits of that exchange, estimated the Venezuelan vice president.
In addition to resisting, we resist and advance. That is the premise that we are applying: resist and move forward organically, without setbacks, to walk progressively, he commented. (Text and photos: PL)
