Kigali, Nov 20.- The member of the Political Bureau and vice president of the Republic of Cuba, Salvador Valdés Mesa, arrived at dawn this Monday (local time) to this African city, where he continues his tour of the brother continent.
Upon arrival at the Kigali international airport, the Vice President of the Republic was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Vincent Biruta, who ratified his country’s willingness to cooperate with Cuba.
In this sense, he commented on how much “can be done in terms of Health” in areas such as the production of vaccines and other medicines, with emphasis on the studies and results that the Greater Antilles has obtained in the treatment of diabetes and Use of Heberprot-P for the therapy of diabetic foot ulcers.
For his part, Valdés Mesa highlighted that perspectives for collaboration are opening up in different sectors. We hope that this visit, he said, “will boost the development of our relations and we will work to give us positive results for the future.”
In this nation, with which Cuba established uninterrupted ties in September 1979, the Vice President of the Republic will carry out an intense work agenda, and then return to Ethiopia, where he will continue the official visit that began last Saturday. (Text and photo: Presidency of Cuba)
