Provincial Directorate of Justice in Camagüey prioritizes digitization of registry entries

Camagüey, February 19.- The digitization of registry entries constitutes a priority for the Provincial Directorate of Justice in Camagüey, in line with the objectives of advancing computerization and raising the quality of the services provided to the population.

According to the report circulated to the press at the recent balance meeting of said entity , progress is shown in this important task, although the non-completion of the approved staff of registrars limits the necessary and specialized comparison of the inserted data, without which the process is not concluded.

At the end of the last calendar, of an inventory of four thousand 441 volumes, just over a thousand had already been digitized; while around 46 percent of the total pages had gone through the confrontation process, which means that in almost 904 thousand of those documents the digitized information was validated.

Another cause that in 2023 limited further progress on this front was the growth in the issuance of certificates of birth, death, marriage, single status, divorce and others, a situation that demanded an increase in public attention.

In Camagüey there are 23 Civil Status registry offices, five of them in maternity hospitals or care centers with obstetrics rooms, in Guáimaro, Camagüey, Santa Cruz del Sur, Nuevitas and Florida; in addition to one in the Palace of Marriages and another in the funeral home on Avenida de la Libertad .
