Cuba thanks food donation from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines


Kingstown, March 25.- Cuban authorities here today thanked the donation of 235 metric tons of flour to the government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, which will contribute to alleviating the complex food situation that the island is going through.

According to the note issued by the diplomatic headquarters, the Cuban ambassador designated in this country, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez, the chancellor of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Keysal Peters, and the general director of the Eastern Caribbean Group of Companies, Robert Cato, They said goodbye to the ship that will transport the important donation to Havana.

Rodríguez Etcheverry thanked the Vincentian authorities for the solidarity and humanitarian gesture on behalf of the government and the Cuban people, while recalling that it demonstrates once again the solid relationship of brotherhood that exists between both nations and the commitment to continue strengthening them.

The donation, which will arrive in the coming days at the port of Mariel, will contribute to alleviating the effects of the intensified economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the United States Government on the largest of the Antilles, which generates a deficit in the food sector.

Both Caribbean nations have strengthened diplomatic and bilateral ties for more than 30 years. (Text and photo: PL)
