II International Transportation and Logistics Fair begins today in Cuba

Havana, April 3.- To create alliances between the main national and international transport players, both from the state and non-state sectors, the II International Transport and Logistics Fair will begin today at the Pabexpo fairgrounds in this capital (FITL) 2024.

The event, which will become a commercial space, will be, as announced by Marta Oramas, First Vice Minister of Transportation, an ideal framework for the consolidation of existing projects or those under negotiation and the identification of new business opportunities, and thereby boost the sustainable development of that branch for the benefit of the population, the economy and society in general.

The priority topics of the event will be the sustainable mobility of passengers and cargo, the modernization of transportation and infrastructure, the use of renewable energy and the efficiency of supply chains and logistics, highlighted Oramas.

She highlighted the specific purposes of FITL 2024 to encourage the development of economic actors, promote foreign direct investment, promote international cooperation, attract financing for infrastructure, expand materials supply networks and modernize national industry.

The Fair, in this sense, will have a greater presence of the non-state sector, as a result of the growth of micro, small and medium-sized companies in the sector, which number more than 700.

According to the information provided to the press by the vice-president, the program includes moments such as the specialized business round in which the sectoral policy for foreign investment will be presented, and international cooperation with the presentation of the project portfolio.

There will be professional exchanges through conferences and panels on logistics and transportation, security, sustainable mobility, scientific and technological advances, innovation and quality of services and, as a novelty, a meeting dedicated to women in transportation, commented Oramas.

Sessions will be dedicated to discussing the development and perspectives of one of its four branches: maritime-port, railway, automotive, and airport and air.

Eduardo Rodríguez, Minister of Transportation, said on his official account on the social network Facebook, where he maintains close communication with users and followers, that FITL 2024 will be an opportunity to advance negotiations, agreements and conventions that contribute to the recovery and development of that sector in Cuba.
