Havana, April 5.- The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba (MINCEX) and the Chinese International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), signed several legal collaboration instruments this Thursday.
The texts, signed by the vice prime minister and head of MINCEX, Ricardo Cabrisas, and the president of CIDCA, Luo Zhaohui, included a Memorandum of Understanding on Rice Donation, and the Protocol for Strengthening Cooperation in the Development of Human Resources within the Framework of the Global Development Initiative.
Likewise, they signed the Memorandum of Understanding for the Promotion of the Project of New Photovoltaic Parks and other Assistance to Cuba.
At the meeting, Cabrisas affirmed that the visit of the Asian delegation occurs in a decisive context for the economy of the largest of the Antilles, and reiterated his gratitude for the donation of 20,408 metric tons of rice.
Likewise, he expressed gratitude for the support of the Chinese Party, Government and people to the Caribbean nation, which - he said - constitutes a practical expression of the implementation of the Global Development initiative, reported the Cuban News Agency.
For his part, Zhaohui highlighted Cuba's resistance to the intensification of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States, and the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Both officials reaffirmed the will and willingness to continue deepening the ties of friendship and solidarity in the new era and to materialize the construction of a common future.
The meeting was attended by the Chinese ambassador in Havana, Ma Hui, as well as heads of Agriculture, Energy and Mines, Industries, Transportation, Communications and other sectors of Cuba. (Text: PL) (Photo: Screenshot)
