Air China will begin operations in Cuba


Havana, April 7.- The carrier Air China will begin operations in Cuba starting next May, official sources reported today.

The president of the Cuban Aviation Corporation SA, Joel Beltrán Archer Santos, made such an announcement after a meeting this Saturday with Chinese executives who participated in the International Transportation and Logistics Fair of this country.

Both the owner and Cuban directors of the sector had broad agreement with the delegation of the Asian country.

The Cuban Minister of Transportation, Eduardo Rodríguez, when inaugurating the II International Transportation and Logistics Fair (FITL 2024), pointed out that the event sought to boost the recovery of sustainable development of the sector. This Fair was held at the Pabexpo fairgrounds, in Havana, from April 3 to 5.

Through business exchanges, the conclusion of agreements, the improvement of the coverage and quality of services, as well as advancing the country's insertion into the international market, this call occurred.

Among the priority topics of the event were sustainable mobility of passengers and cargo, modernization of different infrastructures, use of renewable energy and the efficiency of supply chains.

120 exhibiting entities, both Cuban and foreign, and more than 600 professionals from the sector attended FITL 2024. (Text and photo: PL)
