Havana, 9 apr. - The President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, today lamented the death of the father of the commander Hugo Chávez Frías, Hugo de los Reyes Chávez, who died this day in Venezuela.
From his account on the social network X he sent condolences to the family and friends of Hugo de los Reyes, whom he called the founder of an exemplary family and dedicated to the integration and sovereignty of Our America.
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez also lamented the death of a man whose humility and dedication gave Latin America and the Caribbean a family dedicated to the cause of the peoples.
Hugo de los Reyes Chávez died on Tuesday in Venezuela at the age of 91.
The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, regretted his death and pointed out that until the last second he was firm, lucid, loyal, in combat, thinking of his people, his countrymen and his people.
In a telephone message through Venezolana de Televisión, the head of state recalled that Hugo de los Reyes and his partner Elena Frías headed the Bolivarian Solidarity Committees and was always loyal to Comandante Chávez and Bolivarianism. (Text and photo: PL)
