Cuba-China Business Forum begins today

Havana, April 10.- The Cuba-China Business Forum begins today and will be attended by businessmen from Zhejiang province to explore business possibilities in sectors of common interest.

The meeting that will take place at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba will host a significant number of companies from the Asian giant that work in the areas of construction, food, culture, tourism, industry, and information technologies.

China is one of Cuba's main trading partners, and has enormous potential to extend economic-commercial ties between both countries, whose relations are at the highest level.

Last November, Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero visited the Asian giant and met with President Xi Jinping, and also held a meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Li Qiang.

On that occasion, Marrero visited Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang, and spoke with the secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, Yi Lianhong, about bilateral ties.

Likewise, he toured the City Brain, a technological command center in the city of Hangzhou, known for its innovation and for being the headquarters of leading companies in the Asian giant such as Alibaba.

Marrero also spoke with leading businessmen of the China-Latin America Industrial Park platform and learned about its particularities, whose presentation took place in Havana.

This day's meeting was organized by the Cuban Chamber of Commerce and is expected to serve as a space for the exchange of commercial interests. (PL) (Photo: PL/Archive)
