Cuban Gran Reserva Rum awarded at international event


Havana, April 15.- Eminente Gran Reserva Edition N. º1 rum, from Cuba, won the awards for the best spirits in the world at the London Spirits Competition 2024.

The Cuban drink stood out among others from more than 80 countries, achieving the gold medal of the contest, as well as the recognitions for Best Rum of the Year, Best Spirit of the Year and Best Quality Spirit, reported the Granma newspaper.

The cover letter describes this drink as elegant and complex, which will reveal all the aromas served alone or over a large rock of ice.

Made with 80 percent spirit (Cuba's eau-de-vie) and light rum aged for a minimum of 10 years, Eminente Gran Reserva Edition N.º1 has a fruity profile and a spicy final note due to the barrel finish. French oak, he added.

The Caribbean nation also achieved the silver medal with the Eminent Ámbar Claro, a harmonious, but robust, smooth and complex drink.

The London Spirits Competition is an international spirits competition organized by the Beverage Trade Network that aims to recognise, reward and promote successful brands that tick the boxes: quality, value and packaging.
