Jardines del Rey getting ready for the International Tourism Fair

Havana, April 19.- The Jardines del Rey recreational center (north-center) is preparing to be the propitious setting for the 42nd International Tourism Fair (FITCuba 2024) scheduled there from May 1 to 5, they officially said today.

A report published in the Granma newspaper adds that the work extends beyond the establishments, with the renovation and comprehensive maintenance of the environment and the introduction of technological improvements that guarantee the quality of the event.

Jardines del Rey, the well-known tourist destination north of Ciego de Ávila, is preparing for the important meeting, the most relevant tourism exchange in both Cuba and the Caribbean.

Another media outlet, the Invasor (local) newspaper, points out that the work aims to give a very particular touch to said space.

The general director of Business Projects of the Cuban Telecommunications Company (Etecsa), Frank Pavón, announced that for the first time the Long Term Evolution (LTE) cellular network is arriving at the tourist center.

This network enters with frequencies 700 and 900 MHZ, which will improve service throughout the area. He also specified that the wireless communication system will have new radio bases located at strategic points.

Likewise, forces from several provinces support the construction work carried out in facilities such as Villa Gregorio, the Vigía hotel, the La Gaviota shopping center, the International Clinic and the main pipeline that supplies drinking water to the key facilities, among others.

The lodging and professional activities center of FITCuba 2024, the Grand Marena Hotel of the Gran Caribe Chain, in Cayo Coco, inaugurated in December 2015, underwent capital maintenance, in view of the event.

Furthermore, the establishment also benefits from the rehabilitation of the surrounding coastal dunes, the extraction of invasive exotic plants and the reestablishment of native vegetation.

The event, of high relevance for the country, will be attended by more than 500 hoteliers, tour operators, travel agents, and airline representatives.

Dedicated to Latin America and the Caribbean, it will be an opportunity to present new hotel, non-hotel and nautical products, while drawing up strategies and market lines, along with promoting tourism potential, the message concluded. (PL) (Photo: Invasor)
