Orientation houses in Camagüey: uniting and strengthening families

Camagüey, April 24.- The Women and Family Guidance Houses in the province of Camagüey represent a beacon of hope and support for the community.

These centers, thirteen in total, not only provide assistance and valuable information to women, but also extend their services to children, adolescents, and men who lead households.

Yuneisi Caballero Álvarez, municipal secretary of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) in the territory, highlighted its importance in providing advice to resolve conflicts and violence, both at home and at work.

In addition, the training courses they offer, covering 18 areas of high demand, are a key tool for job placement, especially for new generations seeking opportunities in new economic actors, added Caballero Álvarez.

With the collaboration of specialists from various fields, these headquarters have achieved a significant impact, with more than 800 young graduates this year alone, and 2,500 in the previous year, marking a milestone in the economic and social development of the region.

The growing interest in the Cutting and Sewing course shows a revaluation of traditional and artisanal skills; this discipline not only provides a channel for creative expression, but is also presented as a valuable employment opportunity for many people today.

Professor Nancy Borrel Pérez has managed to attract a diverse audience, including men interested in tailoring, which highlights the importance of these spaces in promoting gender equality.

Rianne Rodríguez, one of the recent students, highlighted the practical value of these lessons, which allow her not only to improve her technique but also to make clothes for her family, thus expanding her skills and personal autonomy.

The FMC in Camagüey strives to expand and perfect these programs, in line with the objectives of the organization's XI Congress to make them more accessible and known in each neighborhood, reinforcing its commitment to female empowerment and family well-being.
