Havana, May 4.- The May Day brigade, with members from 30 countries, and the Canadian Che Guevara, were farewell this Friday at the Fidel Castro Center.

Both contingents, with 313 members together, shared the celebrations for International Workers' Day in Cuba, and made visits to workplaces, communities and sites of historical and cultural interest in Havana, Artemisa, Cienfuegos and Pinar del Río.

At the farewell ceremony, representatives of the Ecuadorian Coordinator of Solidarity with Cuba of Manabí and the Unitary Central of Workers of Ecuador, presented the Five Heroes with the Pedro Antonio Saab award of merit.

The award was received by Fernando González Llort, president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), Gerardo Hernández, coordinator of the CDR, and Antonio Guerrero, on behalf of themselves and their colleagues René González and Ramón Labañino.

The statements of the two brigades thanked the warm welcome received on each visit made, and expressed admiration for the people who resist imperial pressures and do not allow themselves to be defeated.

In the text they recognized how much they learned during their stay in Cuba and ratified the commitment to continue activism against the blockade and in defense of the Revolution. (Text and photos: Trabajadores Digital Newspaper)
