Bandec Camagüey ready for knowledge exchange at Raúl León Torras Event


Camagüey, June 11 - The employees of the branches of the Bank of Credit and Commerce (BANDEC) in Camagüey are fine-tuning the details for an exchange of experiences that promises to increase the efficiency of financial management as the Fifth Raúl León Torras Scientific Event approaches.

Yoryana Sarduy, in charge of Communication and Marketing at BANDEC, announced that the agenda of the event, to be held next Friday at the headquarters of the provincial directorate, will include thirteen presentations distributed in two sessions.

In the first session, topics such as Bandec's internal tests and reviews, strategies to promote the use of the Bandec virtual portal, tools to optimize the compliance officer's functions through Microsoft Excel and specific auditing methodologies for the Cuban banking sector will be discussed. The procedure for organizing trade fairs and the impact of the branch on local economic stability will also be addressed.

The second session will focus on the analysis of the recovery of financing granted to farmers, the management of bank loans for productive chains and the relevance of group-lending model of microcredit in Cuba. It will be complemented with topics such as the MLC application management system, a methodological guide for assigning responsibilities, new savings options for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and the online training system for the provincial management of Bandec.

Raúl León Torras, born in Havana in 1935 and president of Banco Nacional de Cuba between 1973 and 1985, is remembered as a key figure in the development of Cuban economic thought.

With more than 200 branches throughout the country, Bandec offers its services through a fully automated network, with 197 of these branches interconnected by the Public Data Transmission Network, which facilitates the performance of a large part of banking operations.
