Havana, 17 Jan.- Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, today condemned the terrorist, violent and vandalistic acts perpetrated recently against Venezuela's diplomatic headquarters in several countries.
The Cuban foreign minister, through his X account, called for respect for the Vienna conventions on diplomatic and consular relations, as well as to condemn terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
"We condemn terrorist, violent and vandalistic acts against diplomatic headquarters in Venezuela in several countries. We call for respect in Vienna conventions on diplomatic and consular relations and to condemn terrorism in all its forms and manifestations."
Yván Gil, Venezuela's Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, called on the authorities in Lisbon (Portugal), Frankfurt (Germany), Medellín (Colombia), Vigo (Spain), San José (Costa Rica) and Oslo (Norway) this week to accelerate investigations related to attacks on Venezuelan diplomatic headquarters in those nations.
Following the attack on Wednesday on the Venezuelan embassy in Norway, Gil stressed that the responsibility for the inviolability of diplomatic headquarters lies with the Receiving State, and will therefore demand the prompt response of the local authorities to immediately give those responsible for these attacks.
The chancellor said on his Telegram account that his country's embassy in Oslo was invaded and vandalized by fascist elements that were in charge of making it clear to what interests they respond to.
Several consulates have been attacked by extremists, who seek to cause the same damage to diplomatic facilities they are trying to inflict on the beloved Bolivarian Homeland, he said Monday.
Gil urged the Governments involved to ensure the integrity of diplomatic headquarters, as provided for in the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
The Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties is an international treaty that establishes the general rules and principles governing the conclusion, entry into force, interpretation, application, amendment and termination of treaties between States.
One of the most important aspects of the Vienna Convention is the rule of the pacta sunt servanda, which states that treaties must be complied with in good faith by the parties. (Text and Photo: Cubasí)
