Camagüey hosts Architecture, Design and Urban Planning Workshop

Camagüey, Feb 3rd. - On February 3rd and 4th, the Santa Cecilia Convention Center will host the second edition of the Workshop on Architecture, Design and Urbanism, convened by the Office of the Historian of the City of Camagüey (OHCC).

On this occasion the event will be dedicated to the centenary of the launch of Art Deco as a style at the International Exhibition of Modern Decoration and Industrial Arts, held in Paris in 1925.

During the event there will be master conferences, work by commissions, a tour of the buildings that exhibit characteristics of this style in the city and the inauguration of a photographic exhibition.

In the conclusive day of the Workshop of Architecture, Design and Urbanism will be awarded the Alarife Public Prize Fulgencio Arambula, an award that is given in the context of the celebrations for the anniversary of the foundation of the once villa of Santa María del Puerto del Príncipe.

With the central theme The architecture, design and urban planning in the Art Deco the event will have a propositional and competitive character, conceived as a space for debate and generation of ideas around the Cuban built heritage, says the architect Elizabeth Monteagudo Canto, director of Projects of the OHCC, vice president of the Organizing Committee and president of the Scientific Committee of the event.

Every two years, in February, this meeting takes place - alternately with the International Symposium Challenges in the Management and Supervision of Cities - also organized by the Office of the Historian. (Daylén Fenollar German/Radio Camagüey) (Photo: Taken from the Internet)
