Havana, Feb 21st. - The common interest in diversifying the areas of cooperation between Cuba and Laos was demonstrated today at the high-level meetings held in Vientiane, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Caribbean island, during his official visit.
On the last day of his stay in Laos, the Cuban foreign minister made a courtesy visit to the Prime Minister, Sonexay Siphandone.

Rodríguez Parrilla described the exchange as productive, in which the Cuban side moved the willingness to advance in collaboration.
In his official account in X, Cuba's foreign minister mentioned areas of interest such as agriculture, biotechnology and biopharmaceutical, health, education and sports industry.
The head of diplomacy in the largest of the Antilles also held official talks with his Laos counterpart, Thongsavanh Phomvihane, on Friday.
At the meeting, which Rodriguez Parrilla valued as fruitful, both sides agreed that there are possibilities to advance in the diversification of bilateral cooperation, based on mutual trust and previous experiences in several areas.
On Thursday, in an exchange with Thongloun Sisoulith, secretary general of the Lao Revolutionary People's Party (PPRL), and president of Laos, the senior Cuban official highlighted his country's priority in developing ties.
He also stressed that both nations are united by historic ties of solidarity and collaboration in socialist construction.
The delegation of Cuba, also composed of the Minister‘s secretary, Nelson Tamayo Caro; and the director of Asia and Oceania of the Foreign Ministry, Ariel Lorenzo Rodríguez, placed a floral offering to the founder of the Lao Revolutionary People's Party (PPRL) at the Kaysone Phomvihane Museum.
The official visit to Laos closes a tour that began on February 12 by Asian countries, which first led Cuban representation to Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam, in that order.
According to a dispatch from the Latin Press agency, the Cuban Minister for Foreign Affairs will then attend the 58th session of the UN Human Rights Council, which will begin on February 24 in Geneva. (Text: ACN) (Photo: Taken from the X account of BrunoRguez. P)
