Cuba, Feb 28th. - The leader of the Cuban Revolution, Army General Raúl Castro and President Miguel Díaz-Canel reiterated the island's willingness to continue strengthening ties of friendship and cooperation with Nicaragua, it was released today.
In a letter issued here and addressed to co-chairs Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo, the Cuban leaders congratulated Nicaragua on the approval of the new Political Constitution, which they described as a resounding victory of the people in the face of imperialist pressures that threaten the region.
We are pleased that, among the principles set out in the reformed text, is the Nicaraguan commitment to the construction of the Great Latin American and Caribbean Homeland and the struggle for the multipolar order in the world, based on brotherhood, solidarity and complementarity among States, he stressed.
The letter assured that the approved reforms will allow Nicaragua to make even more progress in the consolidation of the revolutionary state and the strengthening of the model of direct democracy, where men and women will be represented equally, in the figure of a co-president and a co-president.
