Havana, Mar 11th. - The Prime Minister of Cuba, Manuel Marrero, urged to increase agricultural and livestock productions, with the purpose of responding to the demands of the people, local media highlight today.
During the balance of performance during 2024 of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Head of Government stressed that this is necessary to promote national economic growth and, thus, support social programs.
He also urged to restore legality with firmness and determination in everyday combat against the illegalities and crimes detected in the fields of the Antillean country, according to reviews of the meeting published in Juventud Rebelde and Granma, among others.
The Head of Government warned that a new sanction frame is discussed for offenders in matters such as livestock, use of land in usufruct and breach of priority plans such as the farmer, the pig and deliveries of milk and eggs.
Marrero stressed that it is important to increase the state collection based on influencing prices, which are speculative and abusive in certain agricultural products, and as a way of advancing in counteracting the diversion of resources and illegal marketing.
According to the sources themselves, he commented that he urges to reverse the current situation with work, commitment, effort and with the conviction that there will be no safer food than those that we are able to produce in the country.
For its part, the head of the Ministry, Ydael Pérez, reported that the agency executes several actions to develop the infrastructure and technological and productive bases, including the transition to irrigation systems that use renewable energies and agroecology.
To consolidate the desired productive results, he said, greater control and accompaniment is imposed on the management of land use, livestock, the commercialization of products and issues related to defaults and banking.
These actions will place us closer to fulfilling government responsibility to implement the Food Security and Nutrition Education Law, which must govern the development of the sector, he said.
